Created by an early childhood educator with two decades of experience teaching in elementary. Our kits were specifically designed to focus primarily on teaching literacy and math using games and engaging activities. Resources to exploring science, social studies and creating through art and crafting are included as well.

Each kit includes these activities:
- Letter recognition, letter sounds and phonics
- Math skills (number recognition, addition/subtraction, geometry and shapes)
- Exploring through science or social studies
- Materials for a craft to do together
Many parents of young children are not aware that by the end of first grade children are expected to be reading about 50 words per minute and adding and subtracting numbers to 20 fluently. Knowing this as a teacher, I wanted to help prepare my children for school but was disappointed by the amount of “fluff” out there. So much of the resources I found were either just crafts, science experiments or drill and kill worksheets. Learning foundational skills that prepare children for success in school and having fun while doing it, is possible!

Our History
What now seems like a zillion years ago, when little people ran around my house I had the idea that educating my two-year-old should be easier. I was an early childhood educator with four years of teaching in the classroom and another five teaching at a preschool while in college. At the time I had this idea, I was trying to finish a masters degree in business online with an infant and a toddler. To say life was hectic and I was crazy, well, yep.
We were renting a tiny house in a remote part of Arizona. Driving to anything (Wal-Mart, etc.) was at least an hour. To keep my toddler busy, I started looking online for activities I could do with her and that would hopefully keep her busy long enough for me to work a little on school work or at least change a diaper! But, the more I looked, the more frustrated I found myself. I knew what to look for but finding things went a bit like this:
“Oh that’s cool. But I don’t have a saw.”
“Oh, that’s cool. Dang! I can’t get that at Wal-Mart.”
“I don’t have the time to make that.”
Umm.. we don’t have the money to buy all those things just for one activity.”

I did the best I could with my little people but as I have continued to teach and see so many kids come to me that have an educational gap, I realized that I need to just close my eyes, take the leap and hope that I can do something to help other parents that share the same challenges.

The science of reading shows that children need frequent and various opportunities to learn new knowledge. I want to provide these for parents. On the Bizzy Bee website, you will have the option to subscribe for 1 box, 6 months or a full year. At any time, you can unsubscribe.
